Brief French Interview with Jim Caviezel

Emelinelovesjc shared this photo and translation of this nice but very brief interview with Jim Caviezel:

Jim Caviezel'short interview for Télé Star (French TV Guide) I’ve translated for you.
“‘Person Of Interest’ made me a little paranoid”
While the Season 2 of the show has a great success every Tuesday night, Télé Star went to New York to meet Jim Caviezel (Reese in Person Of Interest). An actor who, in the opposite of his character, is not in lack of humor.
Télé Star : It’s the 3rd year that you play John Reese. Do you still have difficulties to play this character?
Jim Caviezel : Remember all the lines is still a challenge. And pointing a gun in the streets of NYC is not obvious. But the most important thing to me is the content. The scripts of Person Of Interest still move me, episode after episode.
T.S. : How can explain the success of the show in the USA and in France?
J.C. : It’s probably thanks to the dog… However he is not always very nice! More seriously, I think the show exploits the notion of moral redemption. At that level, we are all in the same boat. The show also cultivates the idea that despite technology, there will be always a person driven by a bigger and positive force who will save you.
T.S. : You work more than 12 hours a day… Are you not too tired?
J.C. : I’m especially fortunate to work ! Yes, the schedule is testing, but once again I love my character and my job above all !
T.S. : With time, don’t you be able to find your cruise speed?
J.C. : The day it will be easy, I think the end of the show will be near. I try to organize myself but it’s not easy. Tomorrow, for instance, I start at 4 am and I still don’t have my lines ! And I have to look after my family…
T.S. : Talking about your family, do your children watch the show?
J.C. : Sometimes but they don’t care a lot about me. On the other hand, they adore Finch (played by Michael Emerson). I don’t count !
T.S. : Do you become a little paranoid playing the role of Reese?
J.C. : Yes, a little I think. I remember when the Snowden case was revealed, all my friends called to tell me “We thought everything that happens in your show was exaggerated…”.

I am behind on checking interviews, but I think it's funny that JC's kids are more impressed with Finch than Reese! That seems to be common with actors' kids. :D
