Oh.  My.

I had forgotten that Harold was that dangerous.   Elias is afraid of Harold!   And that puts a whole new complexion on his reason for keeping Fusco out.   Especially since right after that, Fusco himself reminds us "I'm a detective".   I never paid much attention before, but Harold always refers to Fusco as "detective"; could he be reminding himself that he has to be very careful around Lionel?

What is coming?

There's a lot more to this episode, from Shaw's escape (well sort of, she still has to get back to the US), to Samaritan's more-nefarious-than-usual plan to get everyone's DNA into a database so it can kill off the undesirable people more efficiently, but the exchange between Elias and Harold makes me wonder what exactly Harold may be doing doing with the Machine that he has hidden from Root and John.

There was so much to take in tonight. Good point about Finch hiding things, again.

It is easy to ignore Harold's "dark side" and his dangerous potential. Elias put it well. May no one forget Harold's orders about Grace being harmed. "Kill them all." Harold is doing more with mini-machine and mini-Samaritan than just running who wins scenarios. After several billion of then, what's left to prove. Samaritan wins. He is doing something else and doesn't want Root in on it. I hope we find out. I hate to be left hanging.

I think you might be right about the faraday cage competition, Des. Yes, you might. And Harold is a secretive bastid, lol.

However, I keep thinking of the poem about the butterfly spending an hour in reflection, then emerging, above the fray, wiser than a surrogate (judge). I think it was the Machine's idea, not Harold's. She sent him the poem. Maybe Harold knows what she is doing, though, and if so, why not tell Root and John?

Conspiracy Theory 6745
Perhaps the government ordered CBS and show-runner to end Person of Interest?

Is it just me or is anyone else frustrated that we have only five episodes left and Shaw is STILL seperated from the team?  I love this show but it's giving me so much anxiety!!!!

Shaw presents a real problem for Simaritan - she's a fierce warrior on the ground and fully capable of unleashing 'hell on earth' to anyone crossing her or those she loves. (or mankind for that matter)

Root is her link to TM and now she nows Root and the nerd squad are still alive - and in play!
Harold is a brooding, simmering genius who knows he can unleash hell hath no fury than a finch-man scorned. . . .
The pieces are coming back into play - Shaw is alive and FREE - once she's re-acclimated with her pals she can be Team Machina's most lethal ground operative.
Harold is the most technical of human monsters. With his team in full form he is the master.
The master of building AIs.
And as we've seen thru historical montages - a man very adept at destroying them!

Hey Verbal:  Right on. Shaw does present a real problem, especially given that she knows where to find Samaritan's Johannesburg lair. A major step forward!

We are gaining a player in Shaw, but damn, I hate to lose the Fuscinator.

Trulylost: Shaw finally won free, so I am now fairly content, but the waiting was making me crazy, too. Hope she hooks up with Team Machine first thing next week.

Finch is getting on my nerves, keeping his secrets. I feel for Fusco. Now he requested a new partner, abandoning Roose. So poor Reese takes the fall for Finch's paranoid obsession with control.

I loved these two episodes. Except secrets.

Harold's resistance to direct action and offense is the finest piece of creative tension in the series. Even the Bad AI going after TM and her operatives can't match 'Harold's Dilemna' as trope.
Even Helper Monkey (Reese) is starting to silently come around to Root & Fusco's POV re: action. John didn't say anything but slithered out of the latest Root/Harold confrontation with his go bag between his go bag.
